Lyrically profound, this is a track that will appeal to a vast audience, from pop to chill and deep house listeners. It is a truly delightful piece that suits lazy Sundays and nostalgic moments.
Simplistic in nature, ‘Stems’ focusses on the lyrics, that are a work of art in their own right. The creative genius that has gone into penning these words, is not to be dismissed. Lyric writing is a particular skill. To then translate those words into such a stunning vocal as we have here, is really something special. The vision that was in his mind when the duo wrote these lyrics is conveyed brilliantly. Words such as ‘take me to a time when I thought that my life would be simple’ make them relatable to everyone.
Underpinning the impressive male vocal are mood-enhancing piano chords which work effortlessly to compliment the top-line. Light percussive elements form the low end and give a sense of flow to this original.
To add to the overall mix, Half An Orange has incorporated majestic filtered vocal FX into certain sections, which add to the dynamics and help fill the track. This really is an incredibly professional sounding piece of music.

Talented producer Lykan presents his incredible new single ‘Fly My Kite’, bringing some of the best chill trap you will hear today. With a future pop vibe, this is a light summer inspired track likely to appeal to an eclectic range of electronic music listeners. This artist’s sound is extremely professional and radio-friendly, indeed music deserving of many plays and plenty of air time.
‘Fly My Kite’ concentrates on airy female vocals underpinned by synth chord stabs. The break sections benefit from dazzling vocal chops that are incredibly well mixed and really make this track stand out. Lykan allows his production ability to be portrayed evidently through brilliant enhancement of the dynamic range through the break sections.
In the drops, these vocal chops come into play again to form a fantastic melody lead backed by typical trap percussion. The use of vocal chops in such a brilliant way creates a lot of euphoric energy through the drop sections and makes ‘Fly My Kite’ extremely pleasing on the ears.
What is perhaps most noteworthy here is the quality of the mixdown. This is typically done badly by up-and-coming producers but perfecting this skill can mean the difference between having a good idea for a record and translating that idea into a great sounding track. Here Lykan makes it sound easy, with each instrument layer serving its purpose to a tee and blending together to form a magnificently smooth, professional-sounding track.
With a range of solid tracks and remixes on Lykan’s Soundcloud page, this is a producer to keep your eye on. His radio-friendly style will delight a wide audience and will no doubt receive well deserved support from the music industry’s elite. Talented Israeli producer A!nt That All brings us his latest, fantastically melodic remix of Drake’s infamous ‘Pa$$ionFruit’. With the original track receiving worldwide acclaim and huge amounts of radio air time, this was an exceptional choice of track to remix. We can safely say this is one of the best interpretations of this track available.
A!nt That All keeps things down-tempo, inline with the original version, with a distinct and well-crafted pop feel to it. There are tropical house tones seeping through this remix with the sound design comprising largely of organs and light synths. The original Drake vocal is well utilized and fits seamlessly with the instrumental, including incredibly well- mixed vocal chop FX.
The drop elements in this rework are the highlight, however, and are simply stunning, with a full-spectrum, chill-trap vibe to them. So well produced in fact, that they sound as if Martin Garrix had a hand with them. Seriously impressive stuff. These combined with fitting percussion, create an apt level of energy and assist nicely with the flow of the track.
As far as remixes go that are able to compete with the original version, few come close to A!nt That All’s rework of Pa$$ionFruit. This is a Tel Aviv producer with an abundance of production knowledge, clearly comfortable with his sound. Quite rightly so, because the hard work that has gone into honing his skills in the studio is completely evident here.
We look forward to hearing much more and following this up-and-coming producer’s career closely as it unfolds. Check out Drake – Pa$$ionFruit (A!nt That All Remix), available for a free download, here:
Fantastic Israeli talent Aviran Levi, better known as Avelo, is back following his remarkable Elephante – Plans remix, with a huge new release ‘Take It Seriously’. This one features incredible vocals from male vocalist Bilgo and whilst up-tempo and house-esque, will also appeal to pop audiences, thus encompassing a wide range of listeners. This latest Avelo drop is very radio friendly alongside being apt for the clubs too.
Piano chords and risers accompany filtered vocals in the intro as this dazzling track starts kicks into gear. The male vocal of Bilgo is professional, confidently presented and very high quality, fitting perfectly here. A great choice of vocalist for this original. His voice sits easily with the instrumental and works to complement the underlay, adding the finishing touch to an already stunning backdrop. The vocal mixing is something special too and blends the vocal into the track marvellously.
The drop sections are equally phenomenal, with a trumpet lead and impressive melody creating a lot of energy. This works in harmony with the break segments, the second of which is especially appealing, with funky off-beat, shimmering piano chords accompanying a spoken word section of the vocal. This really is extraordinary stuff from Avelo and Bilgo.
With an ever expanding string of impeccable and varied releases from Avelo, we are fully enjoying watching this prodigious producer come into his own and his sound evolve in a unique way. It is always a refreshing change when we hear a producer stepping slightly away from the crowd to produce a piece that is perfect, yet not confined to one genre or sub-genre. Enter Marcus Tyx, aka DJ Tyx. Here we have a staggeringly good remix of ‘The Yield Xperience – I Can’t STOP’. Fusing pop, deep house, melodic house and EDM, this is a production that does not require being defined by a particular sound or genre, it eludes the limits of genre labels.
Fantastic musical ability radiates from this melodic, jaunty rework. A deep house kick underpins the track, with percussion that would not feel out of place in an orchestral or even tribal song. We find an array of carefully arranged instrument work, with piano and folk guitar. The ‘I Can’t STOP’ vocals work excellently. So well constructed this remix is, that it could, in fact, be the original.
The mixdown and mastering elements are particularly solid here, and the track sounds great in the car, in the studio or on a club system. DJ Tyx has dealt with the, usually tricky, aspect of reverb with ease and the mix is full and vibrant.
I can’t stop listening to this track. This is well deserving of many plays and high level support.
It is no wonder this talented German producer, with a rock background, has won remix competitions. He is clearly very capable and we sincerely look forward to what he has in store for us in the future.
